　　据国外媒体报道，英国音乐剧大师安德鲁-洛依德-韦伯(Andrew Lloyd Webber)近日被诊断出身患前列腺癌。韦伯的好友布朗-詹姆斯(Brown James)表示：“韦伯确实被诊断出身患前列腺癌，目前他的病情还处在早期阶段。”而詹姆斯也并没有透露过多的细节，韦伯承认已经开始接受治疗。

　　现年61岁的洛依德-韦伯成名于“伦敦西区舞台”，他凭借处子作《约瑟夫与惊人五彩梦幻衣》(Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat)在伦敦商业戏剧的大本营崭露头角。此后，他的经典作品便接连问世，圣经题材的《万世巨星耶稣基督》(Jesus Christ Superstar)， 根据阿根廷第一夫人贝隆夫人故事改编的《依维塔》(Evita)以及1986年的传世之作《歌剧院幽灵》(The Phantom of the Opera)和音乐舞蹈剧《猫》都出自于这位音乐剧大师的手下。

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, his spokesperson confirms.

“The condition is in its very early stages,” Webber’s rep says. “Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year.”

Lloyd Webber, 61, composed many of the great musicals including Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats, The Phantom of The Opera and the Phantom sequel, Love Never Dies (to open in London’s West End in March and on Broadway in November).
